Big Nate: Working the system

Description

Nate walks up to his friend, camcorder in hand, and says, "Check it out! I borrowed a video camera from the school library!"

The friend marvels, "The librarian let you borrow that?"

"Yup!" Nate asserts.

The friend watches as Nate checks the focus, and finally says, "She's new, right?"

Nate replies, "Yeah, with rookie faculty, you've got about a month-long window of opportunity."

But some of those circulation policies are flat-out weird! Example: In my college days, I had an on-campus job in the library. We shared space with another school, which had a policy that computer software could not be checked out. The problem with that was that some of the software could only be run on Apples, which our library did not own.
I wonder if the other school ever changed their policy....
