Garfield: Librarian career jeer

Description

In the chapter of career jeers ("a jab for every job") is this insult:

Librarian: "Dusting those books must take a lot of training."

Beneath it is a drawing of Garfield wearing horn-rimmed glasses and holding a book.

Comments

Couple of thoughts.

It would actually be nice if at least one course in library school dealt with down-and-dirty practicalities like dusting books. And printing the top few inches of the microfilmed version of the New York Times. And clearing paper jams. From printers. And fax machines. And photocopiers. And microfilm and microfiche printers. And basic first aid. For paper cuts.

Garfield has a surprisingly pleasant look on his face. I can almost see this image as part of an ALA Read poster.

As a bonus, on page 77 of this book, there is a picture of Odie (slobbering and wagging his tail, of course) with a book in his mouth.
