Start spreading the news and start clearing, cleaning, gathering and schlepping stuff for the annual Back Room Sale. The date this year is Sunday, August 3. It seems like a long way off, but all of a sudden it will be upon us, so take a long hard look at those knick knacks, garden tools, linens, outdoor furniture, miscellaneous household treasures, auto things, tools, books, dishes, and whatnots of every description and get them to the Shul. As in the past, please DO NOT donate used clothing of any sort as it is very difficult for us to manage. We CANNOT accept any old photo equipment, cameras and the like or computer equipment because it just does not sell. All cooking items, blenders, food processors and the like must be in working condition and clean.
Donations can be dropped off at the Shul and placed in the space behind the white folding doors. If you need assistance getting things to the Shul, arrangements can be made to pick up your "goodies."
Set up, pricing and selling assistance will be critical for a successful sale. Last year the participation was wonderful. We had a lot of fun over several days doing different jobs as time and tasks allowed in busy schedules. I am confident that we will have the same turnout this year. The set up begins several days before the sale and of course, we need the most help on the day of the sale. More information with dates and times will follow in future issues of The Shofar, so keep your eyes and your calendar open. JOIN IN THE FUN.
Last year's sale was a huge financial success! Let's do it again this year... 'Declutter' is a new word, but it will feel soooooo good when the stuff you really don't need or want anymore finds a new home and adds to the bottom line at the Shul.
