Chuck Cowdery is a creative director, copywriter and strategic planner with more than 20 years of experience in virtually all media, including print advertising, broadcast advertising, sales promotion, websites, point-of-sale displays, sales literature, film, video, training, newsletters, and press releases. As such, his experience has prepared him ideally for today's emphasis on integrated marketing. Product and service categories of special expertise include beverage alcohol and other packaged goods, health care, insurance, information technology, employee communications, and industrial products, particularly for the automotive aftermarket.Cowdery has crossed over into the non-commercial world to develop projects for museums and public television. He produced, wrote and directed a public television documentary about the making of Kentucky bourbon whiskey called "Made and Bottled in Kentucky," and he publishes a newsletter for bourbon enthusiasts called The Bourbon Country Reader. His book, BOURBON, STRAIGHT: The Uncut and Unfiltered Story of American Whiskey, is a fascinating examination of the history and culture of America's unique native spirit. His other book, Blues Legends (Gibbs Smith, Publisher), is a collection of profiles of twenty great blues musicians. He has worked on major projects for the Cahokia Mounds Historic Site in Illinois and the National Afro-American Museum in Ohio.
In 1992, Cowdery began legal studies in the evening program at DePaul University College of Law. In 1995-96, he and his partner, Robert Palmersheim, won the regional round of the National Moot Court Competition (Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin) and competed in the national finals in New York City. In 1996, Cowdery received his J.D. degree from DePaul and was admitted to the Illinois bar, and to the general bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He practices law on a limited basis, providing legal services for existing marketing clients.
Cowdery is a native of Mansfield, Ohio, and a graduate of Miami University (Oxford, Ohio). He called Louisville, Kentucky home for nine years. Since 1987, he has lived on the north side of Chicago.
