| Doris Evans spent her life in the Nashua, New Hampshire area.
She was born in Hollis, NH in 1896, shortly after the death of her father of tuberculosis. Doris lived with her mother in Nashua where they had a boarding house. As a young woman she worked as a receptionist at the Card Shop (Nashua Corporation) and encouraged her future husband Walter to apply for a position there..which ultimately turned very much to their advantage. Mrs. Evans led an active life dedicated to family and community based upon a consistently positive outlook based on faith and gratitude. She enjoyed a long life passing in 1984. Mrs. Evans was an active member of Congregational Church serving as a deaconess and member of the King's Daughters Benevolent Society. She was also a member of the Good Cheer Society , a charitable home health care provider and predecessor of Nashua's Visiting Nurse Service. |
