Pebble Beach

Pebble Beach is part of the Bean Hollow State Preserve, just south of Pescadero, California. (Not to be confused with the Pebble Beach of golf fame - also a beautiful place, and about 1 1/2 hours south.) It is a small beach, made up of beautiful, smooth pebbles and polished rock formations. All the pictures here were taken on this beach, but there are also very interesting scenes on the rocks just north of the beach, and a scenic nature trail just to the south.

The pebbles are beautiful, polished by the surf.

The surf throws pebbles onto well polished rocks.

Iceplant on the beach.

The surf flowing through the pebbles and rocks can be a restful scene.

Coraline algae and seaweed on the beach. (This is a macro shot of a very small scene.)

Surf flowing over rocks and pebbles, in a long exposure.
