My New Room

It's good to be back to this place I've never been to
It seems very empty if you look in from outside
But I've brought so many places and things back with me
So many people and ideas and questions and answers
My new room is overflowing with the echoes of my time
As I get comfortable and put my feet up on a table
As the postman tends my lines to the Great Beyond
So will I be developing another quest to conquer
Another box to open, another love to master
My new life is my old life, just in a different form
The dreams I've carried with me thru the mountains and the valleys
Across the oceans and the cities—they've kept my blood warm
Now my body settles and I hear the clock's gentle striking
But my time I merely measure as the distance door-to-door
For The Room no walls can bound, and The Trek is to my liking
