- Rocky River Reservation: (Delorme 40
A3-4). This is a part of the Cuyahoga County Metroparks, the 'Emerald
Necklace' that bounds the Greater Cleveland region on three sides. This
is an extensive park, following the river valley from Detroit Road in
Lakewood south to Strongsville. The trails near the nature center at
the Little Cedar Point area provide good birding in any season. For a
general description of the Cuyahoga County Metroparks, click

- Lake Isaac: (Delorme 40 B4). This
waterfowl sanctuary is located in Big Creek Reservation, a part of the
Cuyahoga County Metroparks, the 'Emerald Necklace' that bounds the
Greater Cleveland region on three sides. Exit Interstate 71 south of
Cleveland at Bagley Road and proceed west for about .1 mile to Engle
Road (SR 291). Turn left on Engle; it ends at Fowles Road in about .5
miles. Turn left on Fowles and take the immediate right onto Big Creek
Parkway. The parking area for the lake will be very shortly on your
right.

- Lakewood Park Cemetery: (Delorme 40
A4). Located in the city of Rocky River, the crabapple plantings and
numerous birch trees provide a winter food crop attractive to many
species of birds. The cemetery entrance is on Detroit Road (SR 254); a
straighforward way to get there is to take Interstate 90 west to Clague
Road, turn south on Clague for about .25 miles to Detroit and turn left
on Detroit. The entrance will be on your right in less than 1 mile.
Drive the outer loop road, checking fruiting trees for waxwings and
birches for species such as Common Redpoll and Pine Siskin.
