Greetings! This page contains links to photos related to my two main genealogical lines, Overton and Herrington. I have tried to give as complete a description of each photo as I know. It would be appreciated if anyone can fill in any blanks, please let me know.
David Ransom Overton - Date unknown, but estimated as 1848. Both this and the following photo are courtesy of Janette Overton Dixon, who had them professionally restored. They are the earliest known pictures of the two at this age. In fact, I do not know of any other photo of David, but Martha lived a long life.
Martha Evelyn Gibson Overton - Date unknown, but also estimated as 1848.
Tom & Mattie Lee - Tom and Mattie Lee Herrington Overton in 1929, near Brushy Creek, Texas.
The Overton Ferry - Sometime between about 1860 and 1880, David Ransom Overton ran a ferry service across the San Bernard River due west of what is now downtown Brazoria, Texas. This is a copy of the map showing the location of that ferry. David Ransom died after 1880.

Young Charity Elrod - Charity as a young woman. Does anyone know the date? I think this photo was originally a tintype, so it was quite dark. I increased the brightness and then added some contrast, so it is pretty good.
Charity Elrod "Ma" Evans - Ma as a slightly older woman. Date?
The Elrod Sisters - Three Elrod sisters, Charity Elrod "Ma" Evans, Susana Elrod Evans, and Lizzie Elrod Rogers. Date and location unknown.

Based on the ages of known family members, this was taken about 1915 at Brushy Creek, Texas.
Brushy Creek "High School" - I don't know who the people are except for the three oldest Herringtons. Joe and Mattie Lee are clear on the back row on both sides of the teacher. That is Gilbert at the front left.
Vergil and Callie - Vergil C. Herrington and Charity Evans (Callie) Herrington as a young couple. Date unknown.
The Herrington Family - This is the Herrington Family. This is taken in the dining room area of Callie's house in Palestine, Texas, at 900 N. Perry Street, Christmas, 1947.
