Will of David Overton, the elder, from the will books of Warren Co., TN..... 13 Apr 1835. In the name of God, Amen, I, David OVERTON, being weak in body and in my senses, knowing that all men must die, do make this my last will and testament. I want my body decently buried. I want all my just debts paid. I also want my wife Luvisia (ink blot) OVERTON to have all my lands during her life and after her death the land to be sold and the money to be equally divided amongst my eight boys. Henry is only to have his share of the land. My three youngest boys, George, David, and James to stay with their mother til they become of age. My daughters I want to have as much of the property as will make their shares equal with the boys. I appoint Nimrod DODSON and David RAMSEY my executors. Witnesses Samuel POWELL and Nimrod H. DODSON.
