So where is the "house of the water sign"? : Astrology and The Moody Blues' Strange Times

Sources

  1. Justin Hayward and John Lodge, Strange Times, 1999.
  2. Julia Parker and Derek Parker, Parker's Astrology (New York: Dorling Kindersley, 1991) - this is an excellent basic source. Not supercheap - mine cost $35 dollars (before a 20% discount), but quite comprehensive. The ephemeris (the lookup chart for the planets and signs) goes up to only the year 2000. So it's not Y2.001k-compliant ;-) and they will probably be putting out a revised edition around then. There's also an earlier edition - the ephemeris on that one is definitely not current, but it contains the same great instructions for creating a birth chart. If you are ready to move past the basics, this would be a great book to start with.
  3. Tomas J. Filsinger, Celestial Planisphere (South Norwalk, CT: Great American Puzzle Factory, c1989) - a bit of a nuisance to put together, since the background is entirely black, but quite nice when it's done.

There are several other books on astrology that added to my knowledge - Sun Signs and Love Signs, both by Linda Goodman, and books by Jeane Dixon and Evangeline Adams. (Sorry, but I don't know the titles. They were my parents' and have probably been eaten by the monster in the attic.) I was in a bookstore yesterday, and saw The Complete Idiot's Guide to Astrology. I didn't buy it - it mentioned Princess Diana fairly prominently on the cover, and I have a problem with that sort of thing. I did flip through it quickly, and it seemed to be a reasonable overview. I would still recommend Parker's, though, if you think you're really going to get into this - it's the best one I know.
