[Note: Kilburn, 1971, separated C. mozambicus into two subspecies,
C. m. mozambicus Hwass in Bruguiére, 1792 and C. m. lautus Reeve, 1844.
Kilburn provisionally retained the separation on the basis of geographically isolated
color variants and the lack of intergrades.]
