RULES OF THE 2012 ATSC Shell Festival

1. Exhibits MUST be the property of exhibitor.  No exceptions!

2. Entry blanks must be in the hands of the Shell Show Chairman on or before January  3,  2012   Entry may not be given verbally, it must be confirmed in writing and signed by the exhibitor before exhibit is set up.  Entry may be changed from the category shown on the entry blank at the discretion of the Shell Festival Chairman.  Exhibitor will be notified of this change.  First come, first served basis due to space available.

3. Entries must be set up at the Melbourne Auditorium on Friday January 13, 2012   between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

4. An exhibitor may enter as many categories as desired, but must have displays for each category entered.  Exhibitor may enter more than one exhibit in a category (remember you will be competing against yourself that way).

5.  Entries MAY NOT be removed from the auditorium before 4 p.m. on Sunday, January  15, 2012   They must be removed by and no later than 7 p.m.

6.  The name or picture of the exhibitor may not be shown on any display until after the judging.  The age of all Junior Exhibitors must be on their exhibits during judging.  Special placards will be on the exhibits following judging with exhibitors name and title of exhibit.

7.  During the judging on January 16 from 1-5 p.m. the auditorium will be closed to all except the judges and clerks.  The decisions of the judges will be final.  Any exhibitor entering the hall during the judging will be disqualified.

8.  A red star or dot must be placed by each self-collected shell not placed in the self-collected category in order to be eligible for any self-collected awards.  Self collected shells are those personally collected by the exhibitor from their natural habitat. No purchased, gift, traded, borrowed or commercially dredged shells are allowed.

9.  Each exhibitor should furnish glass-covered display cases for all specimen exhibits that require such protection.    All shells and art work exhibited at your own risk.

10.  Electricity is available for extra illumination or for aquariums only upon request of the exhibitor on the entry form.

11.  If an upright backing is used for an exhibit, the reverse side of it must not detract in any way from the exhibit on the opposite side of the table.  In other words, make it look pleasing on both sides.  All backboards cannot exceed 30” in height.

12.  Arts and Crafts Exhibitors must provide their own pegboard hooks for hanging exhibits.

13. No advertising or selling will be permitted by exhibitors during the show.
