POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Posted September 14, 1998 HEALTH SCIENCES REFERENCE LIBRARIAN: Ohio University seeks applicants for a Health Sciences Reference Librarian, to fulfill the informational needs of students, faculty and staff, in particular the College of Osteopathic Medicine, the College of Health and Human Services and the Departments of Psychology, Biological Sciences and Chemistry. This position also assists the local area as well as hospitals in Appalachia Ohio. Responsibilities include reference desk service, classroom instruction, CD-ROM and online database searching, collection development and training student assistants. May be asked to work evenings and/or weekends. > >Qualifications: ALA-accredited MILS, science coursework, strong service orientation, reference and biomedical database searching experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, teaching abilities required; life sciences degree, 1-2 years experience in health sciences librarianship, experience teaching use of electronic resources preferred.
