POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Posted November 27, 1998 LIBRARIAN I - CLINICAL MEDICAL LIBRARIAN: Opportunity for creative, energetic, flexible individual with strong public service commitment to join unique clinical medical librarian team, participating in Medical School hospital rounds, providing information services/instruction/collection development/faculty liaison for Schools of Biological Sciences, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and area health professionals. Reports to Assistant Director for the Health Sciences Libraries. Participates on team developing plans, policies, procedures for health science libraries in support of Libraries' mission. Professional development encouraged, required for promotion. Extensive library automation. Minimum requirements: ALA accredited MLS; exceptional interpersonal, communication skills; ability to work positively, productively with diverse constituencies in rapidly changing environment; understanding of scholarly research environment; relevant information technology experience; evidence of professional initiative; potential to meet promotion requirements in non-tenure track appointment. Preferred: Degree in sciences; current knowledge of medical library service delivery trends/issues; AHIP; healthcare experience; current, successful instruction, reference, collection development experience.
