Hiragana for Lesson 4
![]() |
え pronunced /eh/, similar to
the Spanish and Italian "e." It is the fourth kana in the hiragana. あいうえお a-i-u-e-o
is the first row in the syllabary (alphabet). This row is
called the あ行 a-gyou. え comes from the character 衣 e or koromo, clothing. Words to practice for today: いえ (家) home いいえ no えだ (枝) eda, branch |
え is pretty simple to pronounce.
Be careful with いえ and いいえ, though. The "i" in いいえ is twice as long as in いえ.
Remember to keep the 書き順 stroke order and direction!
書き順と方向をしっかりと守ってください。
