Wanting to prove to his ex-wife that he can handle responsibility,
Flex, a local sportscaster and ladies man, takes on the challenge

a job in another country. Flex quickly realizes that being the full-time
father of a spirited teenager may take more than he expected. Kyla
Pratt, who won the hearts of audiences everywhere in "Love and Basketball,"
and Flex Alexander make quite a team as they continually test the
boundaries of their father-daughter relationship in ONE ON ONE.
The series stars Kyla Pratt as Kyla Washington and Flex Alexander
as Mark "Flex" Washington. The executive producers are Eunetta T.
Boone, David Janollari and Robert Greenblatt. It is produced by

Enterprise
Wednesdays at 8:00PM
Executive Producers Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, longtime chieftains
of the "Star Trek" franchise, bring the iconic Star Trek universe
to UPN for a fifth installment. Set early in the 22nd century -
150 years before James T. Kirk helmed the famous starship - ENTERPRISE
explores the history of intergalactic upheaval that eventually leads
to the formation of The Federation. The combination of science fiction,
action/adventure and compelling stories of collective bravery and
individual heroism remain true to the spirit of one of television's
formidable brands. With Scott Bakula ("American Beauty," "Quantum
Leap") at the helm of a talented ensemble cast as Captain Johnathan
Archer, the saga continues to explore human and alien behavior as
well as brand new worlds. As with each incarnation of the franchise,
ENTERPRISE pushes the edge of the visual envelope with the kind
of state of the art special effects that have made "Star Trek" a
global phenomenon. The series also stars Connor Trinneer as Chief
Engineer Commander Charlie Tucker, Dominic Keating as Lt. Malcolm
Reed, Anthony Montgomery as Ensign Travis Mayweather, Linda Park
as Ensign Hoshi Sato, John Billingsley as Phlox and Jolene Blalock
as Sub Commander T'Pol. The series executive producers are Rick
Berman and Brannon Braga. It is a Paramount Network Television production.

Midseason Replacements for 2001-2002 Season

Stephen King's The Dead Zone
Based on Stephen King's best-selling novel, this new drama is the
story of a young man whose amazing psychic powers could alter the
course of history. Upon waking from a six-year-long coma, charming
and affable Johnny Smith finds he's just a mere reflection of the
man he once was. He soon makes a disturbing discovery - when he
touches another person, he gets glimpses into either their past
or their future. Johnny's doctors explain it away as hallucinations,
claiming that he's using a part of the brain that is dormant in
most humans known as the 'dead zone.' Unconvinced, Johnny tries
putting his life back together. Between the loss and confusion that
now define his life's fragile boundaries, Johnny must use this new
gift as a lantern to save a life or stop a disaster, seeing behind
the curtain into the souls of those he touches. The series features
Anthony Michael Hall as Johnny Smith, Nicole deBoer as Sarah Bracknell
and Chris Bruno as Walt Bannerman. Executive producers are Michael
Piller ("Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Star Trek: Voyager") and
Lloyd Segan. Shawn Piller ("Star Trek: Voyager") is producer. The
show is produced by Lions Gate Television Corp. and The Lloyd Segan
Company.
Manhunt
From the World Wrestling Federation's Vince McMahon and "7 Days'"
executive producer Christopher Crowe comes MANHUNT, a larger-than-life
reality game where the rules and the results are as outrageous as
the WWF itself. MANHUNT follows 13 ordinary people on a 6 day adventure
of forging rivers, climbing mountains and cutting through dense
jungle foliage, all while being hunted by man's most dangerous natural
enemy: man himself! The skillful hunters are a cast of wicked, colorful
and competitive characters (not unlike the personas made popular
by the World Wrestling Federation) tracking the contestants as they
follow clues in search of a treasure chest that awaits the eventual
winner of a quarter of a million dollars! Vince McMahon and Chris
Crowe serve as executive producers with Bob Jaffe as co-executive
producer. It is produced by World Wrestling Federation Entertainment,
Inc., Paramount Network Television and Bob Jaffe Productions.
Rebuild Your Life
This season, UPN offers adventurous families the chance to find
out what it would be like to escape their daily routines and REBUILD
YOUR LIFE. From Endemol Entertainment comes a reality series where
families are given the opportunity to start over in an exotic location
free from the stresses of their day-to-day lives. There's one catch:
each family will be challenged to excel at a life unfamiliar to
them. They will build a house, gather and eat food from the wild
(not off a supermarket shelf) and exist without the familiar creature
comforts of home, such as a telephone or television. The rules are
simple. The families are transported to an island where they are
given a limited time to build a house, a la Swiss Family Robinson,
while cameras record the contestants every move and watch as relationships
develop under exceptionally tough conditions. The family who builds
the nicest home using indigenous material wins. The winning family
is given money to build their dream home back in the States. But,
if they so choose, they may remain indefinitely on the island, where
they have spent the last thirty days rebuilding their lives. REBUILD
YOUR LIFE is executive produced by John de Mol ("Big Brother").
The show is a production of Endemol Entertainment, USA.

Entertainment Specials for 2001-2002 Season

The Source Hip-Hop Music Awards 2001
THE SOURCE HIP-HOP MUSIC AWARDS has rapidly become the event of
the year for African-American teens. Last year's presentation on
UPN, which featured performances by hip-hop superstars Dr. Dre,
Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Lil' Kim, Jay Z and The Cash Money Millionaires,
earned higher ratings among African-American teens than The Super
Bowl, The Oscars, The Grammys and The MTV Movie Awards. This year,
celebrities from the worlds of music, movies, television and sports
will once again come together to celebrate America's most popular
musical genre and to present the winners in categories, including
Artist of the Year, Group of the Year and Album of the Year. The
special is produced by Source Broadcast Media, LLC.
Mo'nique's Holiday House Party
Star of the hit UPN series THE PARKERS, Mo'Nique invites viewers
into her home for a holiday special with a unique urban flavor --
and a liberal dose of her outrageous sense of humor. The actress/comedienne
plays host to friends, family and other celebrities as she shares
some intimate holiday moments. And you can rest assured that there
will be some surprise, caught-on-tape moments for the host as well.
Don Weiner ("Showtime at the Apollo," "Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally
Revealed") is the executive producer.
Iron Chef Showdown in Las Vegas
Actor William Shatner will host two one-hour specials of IRON CHEF
SHOWDOWN IN LAS VEGAS, UPN's all-new Americanized version of the
phenomenally successful Japanese culinary show "Iron Chef." Staged
like a sporting event, IRON CHEF SHOWDOWN IN LAS VEGAS features
frenetic culinary battles between the world's top chefs who race
against the clock to create outstanding original cuisine. William
Shatner contributes his trademark sense of humor and entertaining
style to his role as "Chairman." In each show, a Challenger (chef)
is sent into the Chairman's "Kitchen Stadium," a giant cooking arena,
where he or she competes against one of four Iron Chefs who specialize
in American, Italian, French and Asian cooking. The competing chefs
are given one hour to prepare an exotic meal in which each course
must feature a secret ingredient that is revealed only moments before
the battle begins. A panel of four celebrity judges taste and critique
the food before determining whose cuisine will reign supreme. Based
on format rights of Fuji TV, IRON CHEF SHOWDOWN IN LAS VEGAS is
produced by the Larry Thompson Organization and Lions Gate Entertainment.
Larry Thompson ("And the Beat Goes On: The Sonny and Cher Story,"
"Lucy and Desi: Before the Laughter") is executive producer.
