 *Genesis 1:2 denotes a fallen condition. See Isaiah 45:18 "--not as waste did he create it: he formed it to be inhabited:--" (JND Trans); "..not in vain.." (KJV). Sin existed before Adam and Eve, it's source being it's FIRST CAUSE, that is the Devil (see John 8:44). God is not the author of confusion (1 Co 14:33), and the creation detailed in Genesis 1-2 He pronounced to be "good". But in Gen. 1:2 It is pronounced to be "without form and void" (Heb. "TOHU" and "BOHU"; see Strong's #8414 and #922). Satan's rebellion and resulting judgment is detailed in Ezekiel 28:12-19 and Isaiah 14:12-23.

 **Satan's rebellion (Gen. 1:2) and the entrance of sin into the present order (Gen. 3:1-24) are separated by an unknown amount of time.
