UNKNOWN AIR TRAFFIC

       1. "Hudson Valley," or the Westchester Wing, NY 1984
Thousands of  reports, mostly nocturnal, of  large, silent, hovering
object with series of rotating lights. Reports came from many highly
credible individuals  including meteorologists, news  reporters, and
police chiefs.  "Planes in formation" theory  was proposed; however,
videos taken by area resident of  both the object and a formation of
planes  shows distinct  differences. Intermittent  sightings to this
       day.

       2. "Washington Invasion," Washington, DC 1952
Several fast-moving objects appear  on radarscopes at three separate
installations,  including Andrews  AFB. Interceptors  scrambled, but
don't find anything.  Same thing happened the next  night, this time
objects  confirmed  by  ground  observers.  Largest peace-time press
conference in govt. history was  called to explain to reporters that
radar traces  were caused by thermal  inversions, despite absence of
proper weather conditions on the nights in question.

       3. "Travis Walton," Snowflake, AZ 1974
Five woodcutters allegedly witness abduction of their comrade aboard
UFO. Abductee  reappears five days later,  fails first lie detector,
after which he  and four other witnesses pass,  one is inconclusive.
Unreasonable controversy surrounds suppression of first lie detector
       results.

       4. Ann Arbor, Michigan  1966
From March 14 thru March 21, over fifty citizens, plus twelve police
officers, plus eighty-seven Hillsdale College students saw a cluster
of  UFOs manuvering  across three  counties. The  case was so strong
that  it  embroiled  the  U.S.Congress  in  the  UFO  research...the
formation of  The O'Brien Committee  which led to  the University of
Colorado Study. The  results of that study: of  91 cases studied, 30
       remained "unidentified" -- 30%

       5. Levelland, Texas  1957
On November 2nd and 3rd, sightings of a large ( 200 ft est. ) UFO by
local citizens resulted in eight independent, but strikingly similar
descriptive reports, including police officers. The police conducted
an   organized,  and   successful  'watch'   following  the  initial
       sightings.

       6. "The Lubbock Lights"  Lubbock, Texas  1951
From  August 25  thru September  7, hundreds  of people sighted UFOs
from  Albuquerque,  NM  to  Lubbock.  It  was  a  huge,  wing-shape.
Observers included three college  professors cross-referenced by ADC
radar  target at  13000 ft.  traveling at  900mph. Photographs  were
       successfully taken.

       7. "Incident at Exeter"  Exeter, New Hampshire  1965
On September  3, a large,  oval UFO manuvered  low over fields  near
Exeter.  Primary   descriptions  were  taken   from  many  citizens,
including two police officers and a veteran news reporter. Air Force
public information  office wrote: "...we are  unable to identify the
object you  observed...thank you for  reporting your observation  to
       the Air Force."

       8. McMinnville, Oregon  1950
On May 11th, Paul Trent and his  wife, while at their home, took two
clear  photographs of  a UFO.   These photos  were determined  to be
"genuine",  the  case...unidentified...by   University  of  Colorado
       Study of 1969.

       9. Fairbanks, Alaska  1986
Japan Air Lines pilot Kenju  Terauchi and crew reported three, large
UFO  over Alaska.  This was  cross-referenced by  in-flight radar as
       well as FAA ground-radar.

       10. Papua, New Guinea   1959
From  winter into  summer, New  Guinea officials  received more than
sixty sightings, including, on June 26 Father William Booth Gill, an
Anglican priest  at his parish.  He, with a  missionary teacher, and
       about   30   parishioners,   saw   a  "sparkling  object...very,very
bright...above Venus...decend toward us." Measuring the UFO as about
20 degrees of arc, then observing the operators..."men..."

       11. The Missouri Boomerang  1980
On November 18, three policemen (Adair County deputy sheriff Charles
Cooper, highway patrolmen Bob Lober  and Mike Leavene), and at least
six  civilian witnesses,  and the  FAA radar  station at Kirksville,
Missouri (Franklin West,  technician)  tracked  a large, cylindrical
UFO through 22 towns, criss-crossing two states, for four hours.

       12. Ulan-Davan, China  1926
While exploring the Himalaya Mountains, Nicholas Roerich, with eight
other  Europeans  and  a  complement  of  local  guides and bearers,
observed: 'We noticed something shiny,  flying very high from the NE
to the South...We  bring three powerful field glasses  and watch the
huge speroid  body shining in  the sun, clearly  visible against the
blue sky and moving very fast.' As they watched, the object abruptly
changed the direction of its flight to  the SW, and was soon lost to
sight. The  authenticity of the account  is that it was  recorded as
merely  an  "interesting"  occurence   within  the  grand,  sweeping
adventure of their journey.  (Altai Himalaya)

       13. "The Tunguska Blast"  Tunguska, Siberia  1908
On  June  20,  at  approximately  7am,  an  object passed across the
Himalayas, western China, and Mongolia, finally to explode violently
above the Tunguska Plateau. As it  approached the town of Keshma, it
changed its, long-observed course from  the south, to a heading east
toward Preobrazhenka,  then it changed  course again toward  the NW.
The general flight-path was horizontal,  at a speed of approximately
1600  mph.  The  record  was  collected  from  hundreds  of  primary
witnesses  and  investigated  by  Prof  Leonid  Kulik through a long
succession  of  early  field  expeditions  to  the site. Also, Prof.
Aleksander  Kazantsev,  after  1945,  was  the  first to propose the
'visitor' theory,  and in 1966,  Soviet investigators V.K.Zhuravlev,
D.V.Demin, and L.N.Demina issued a definitive paper describing it as
a nuclear event.  Prof. Felix Zigel (aerodynamics)  and A.V. Zolotov
(geophysics)  supported   the  'nuclear  event'   theory  through  a
re-examination  of the  evidence, and  the geometry  of the  area of
       destruction.

       14.  Fatima, Portugal  1917
On  the afternoon  of October  13,  a  crowd of  over 50,000  people
watched the clouds part to reveal a huge silver disk (like mother of
pearl), spinning  like a windmill  and 'dancing' about  the sky. The
object  gave off  heat, drying  rain-soaked clothing  in minutes. It
then flew  away toward, and vanished  in, the glare of  the sun. The
world was "invited" to observe this event through previous events at
       the same location. More

       15. Syracuse, New York  1965
On November  9th, hundreds of witnesses,  including in-flight pilots
and flight  instructors observed a  huge UFO in  the vacinity during
the occurence of The Great Blackout...which shut down all grid-power
throughout the  northeastern United States for  several hours. Power
was   restored  when   the  vehicles   (others  were   observed  and
       photographed throughout the region) departed.

       16. Las Cruces, New Mexico  1949
On August  20th, Dr. Clyde  Tombaugh -- professional  astronomer and
the discoverer  of the planet Pluto  -- observed the maneuvers  of a
large, rectilinear UFO while in the  company of his wife and company
at an informal gathering at his home. His descriptions were precise,
and  professionally reported  to the  public record.  " I  have done
thousands of hours  of night sky watching, but never  saw a sight so
       strange as this."

       17. Lake Anjikuni, Canada  1930
Trapper Armand Laurent and his two sons reported a huge, cylindrical
UFO,  above  the  lake,  to   RCMP  Mounties  who  were  heading  to
investigate a discovery  at the Eskimo village at  the lake. Trapper
Joe  Labelle,  at  the  lake,  discovered  and  reported  that every
resident of the village was missing... 1200 people had vanished. The
       case remains unsolved.

       18. Beverly, Mass.  1966
On  April 22,  Brenda Maria,  and several  neighbors, and  two motor
patrol police officers observed a  UFO manuvering silently about the
neighborhood and  over the local  school fields. The  police alerted
the  Air  Force  which  dispatched  two  planes  and a helicopter to
investigate...chasing off, and following after, the UFO.

       19. Morenci, Arizona  1981
In January, Randel  Rogers and three co-workers at  the local copper
smelting plant  witnessed a large, boomerang-shaped  UFO hover above
one  of the  two smokestacks  and  beam  a light  into it.  Leaving,
silently,  it  was  observed  to  fly  over  the Morenci High School
football field by 100 members of  the high school marching band, who
were practising. Director Bruce Smith said  "I looked up and saw all
these lights in the shape of a V. There was no sound. It hovered for
a few minutes, then disappeared high into the sky."
