Geologic modeling is the step between classical geology and reservoir engineering. Geologic modeling generates a 3 Dimensional model of the field, interpolating properties between wells using deterministic or stochastic methods. Output is the static reserves and a 3-D grid of the structure and rock properties that can be read into ad reservoir simulator. The most common packages are IRAP/RMS, Stratamodel, and Petrel.
Recent projects include:
- A Carbonate Field in the Middle East
- A model of a 4000 well field in western Siberia
- A field in Kazakhstan
- Fractured basement field in Hungary
