The founder of Basic Patents.com, Jerry R. Potts, has combined engineering and patent preparation and prosectuion experience in excess of 35 years. With an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, an undergraduate degree in Basic Engineering, hands on experience as a research and development engineer, and has been registered to practice patent law before the United States Patent and Trademark Office first as a patent agent and then as a patent attorney since 1973.
The services provided are prompt, performed in complete confidentiality and are available through the Internet with encryption if requested to protect all communications. In short, our clients never need to leave their office or home to receive quality legal services.
We have contacts with associates from around the world who are able to assist our clients in protecting their inventions on an international basis. Our normal turn around time for preparing a patent application, based upon having received a complete invention disclosure, is four to six weeks.
