are mentioned in the timeline of Daniel 12:11, from 1843,
giving them the date of A.D. 508. They assumed that an historical incident in France
fulfilled the prophecy.
Obviously, if one subtracts from a wrong number, the answer will
also be wrong! So the date A.D. 508 is a wrong date. In fact, it was
generally recognized that the 1843 chart contained "a mistake in some of its
figures." Early Writings p. 74. No prophetic exposition, based on
faulty data is considered valid. Furthermore, interchanging literal and symbolic language
is wrong. Using the year-day principle to "interpret" literal language is
wrong. Taking the timeline numerals out of their literal context is wrong.
Past expositions of Daniel 12 timelines have been wrong because they
were premature. The prophecy of Dan. 12:5-13, with its timelines, was "closed up and
sealed" until the endtime or last generation. Not until the last generation was on
stage, was the time appropriate for the prophetic timelines of Dan. 12:7-12 to be
disclosed, and to arrive at the correct application.
The Opposition, Rejection, Denial, and Prejudice Against a Study
of Daniel 12 Timelines Pertaining to Future Events is Evidence of Satanic Opposition to
"Present Truth."
"In every age, there is a new development of truth, a message from
God to the people of that generation." Christs Object Lessons p. 127.
And in every age there has been Satanic opposition. No study today is so hated and its
messengers so vilified, as those who teach, preach, or publish a future application of the
timelines of Daniel 12, giving them a Biblical "Present Truth" setting. The
pulpits have been closed and the ministry intimidated. This in itself is evidence that it
is a vital message and warning of great importance to the people of God.
[The Christian] "has a chart pointing out every way-mark on the
heavenward journey and he ought not to guess at anything."
The Great Controversy p. 598.
In every age, it has been prophetic "Present Truth" which has revealed to a
remnant people the messages vital to their spiritual need, and lifted them above the
ever-threatening apostasy. It has anchored them to truth, and
