ments of God, and have the faith of Jesus, the Spirit of
Prophecy, who will be the "holy people" of Daniel 12, who will be
"scattered," "crushed," or persecuted for 1260 literal days! They will
not be permitted to use their "hands" or to do God’s ministry, or carry out
their own work during that time. This statement corresponds with those of Revelation, as
follows:
"And the dragon [devil] was wroth [angry] with the woman, and went
to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and
have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Rev. 12:17.
"And it was given him [the beast] to make war with the saints,
[the "holy people"] and to overcome them: and power was given him over all
kindreds, and tongues, and nations." Rev. 13:7.
The first Papal Supremacy had control only in the "old
world." It did not control "all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."
Therefore, the final and complete fulfillment of Rev. 12 and 13 is future. This is bad
news. This is why Daniel 12 is called a WARNING. God’s people need to
know what is coming that they may brace themselves spiritually, mentally, and physically;
to pledge themselves to obedience, and service; to have sins forgiven and forsaken, to
seek God with all their hearts, souls, and minds! Their only deliverance will be in
receiving the Seal of the Living God described in Rev. 7 and 14:1-5.
What is a "time"?
The Dan. 12:7 future "scattering" or persecution will continue for exactly a "time,
times, and an half." The word, "time," is a Hebrew
term, referring to the Hebrew calendar year which was made up of 12 months, of 30 days
each, totaling 360 days. Therefore, a "time, times, and an half" may be counted
as 1260 days. The 1260 days can be divided into 12 months of 30 days each, which is a
period of 42 months. The Dan. 12:7 timeline consists of 1260 days or 42 months,
with a future application.
What is a "Dual Application"?
The 42 months of Revelation 13:5 had a past application, referring to the Papal reign from
A.D. 538-1798 over the old world. However, there is also a "final fulfillment"
which is a "final application" to Papal Supremacy No. 2, when it will rule over all
the the world in the near future.
