Fuel Injectors
The following information was collected from different digest postings
on the web regarding fuel injectors. This is a very common upgrade on the
95 M3 w/ OBDI with the addition of a Euro HFM and matching chip. It's also
very much needed when one turbos or super charges a motor.
It has been reported that '95 M3 w/OBDI have 17lb/hr injectors
and '96+ M3 w/OBDII have 21.5lb/hr injectors.
Typical upgrades are the Ford 19lb/hr units (actually 21.7lb/hr
when used on a BMW), or Ford 24lb/hr injectors (about 27.7lb/hr on a BMW).
Ford injectors are made by Bosch. They are sold under the Ford
Performance Products brand. The 30lb/hr units have red tops. The 24lb/hr
units have light blue tops. The 19lb/hr have yellow tops. The 19's were stock
on the 86-95 Mustang 5.0 (non-Cobra). The 24's were stock on the '93-'95
Mustang Cobra.
M coupe Fuel Injectors
Below is a photo of an injector from a M coupe. Note the color, Rose or
some may call it Pink? They flow 205cc/min or 19.5lb/hr.
