At
43 miles (69 kilometers) in diameter, the Manicouagan Lake
in the Canadian province of Quebec is one of the largest well-preserved
crater structures in the world. Although it has been eroded
substantially, the original crater rim is thought to have
been 62 miles (100 kilometers) across. The crater is about
212 million years old
