Who are your allies?

Your quest would be practically impossible were it not for your wonderful furry friends, who fall from the sky and power up your ship. Flossie and company, your wooly saviors are often the only thing between you and a flashy pixelly demise. Sheep in Gridrunner++ come in three flavours, each tastier than the last:

Every time you clear a wave of attacking snakes a sheepie will drop from the sky. If you fly your ship over it you'll get a power up. These poer ups include improved firepower, longer lasing sheepie-zapper, and a larger bonus multiplier. The 1000 points don't hurt either. They also gift you with a very very brief period of invulnerability that can be used to extract yourself from a tight spot. Even better: if you die and manage to maneuver the shattered remains of your ship so the center crosses a sheep you'll be resurrected from the grave and ready to return to battle. Sheepie Save!

Once you've got your bonus multiplier up to 9 your next sheepie will result in the Pill. This is a handy fellow in the form of a big sheepie head that dashes madly around the screen seeking out your foes and eliminating them. The more you shoot it the more power it has.. and after powering it up enough it will break out lasers from its top, bottom and sides to help clear out any remaining snakey scum. With this fellow on hand you're one pixel shattering mad killing machine.. just don't get overconfident!

The best sheepie of them all, though, is the Continuity Sheepie. If you grab a regular bonus sheepie after the Level Up message but before the grid speeds forward to the next level then the first sheep to drop on the next level will be a flickering and flashing super-sheep. Catch this and you will get all the bonus firepower you worked so hard for on the previous level back and all your points multipliers back as well. Sheepie Joy!
