TLK Audio Video Services is a one man show—owned and operated by Tim Kepner. (With a lot of help from Cynthia & Lane!!)The primary line of expertise and interest is in audio recording and mixing.Twenty five years of technical experience has been applied towards this end both in operating and maintaining clients equipment as well as in designing, maintaining and operating our own gear. Such experience is always being applied toward every aspect of sound production for which we become involved.Why the term “we”? Because of the network of other audio professionals and many vendors which have been developed over the past 25 years to insure that every job goes just the way it should. |

1994 - Present Freelance Major clients include Unitel, NEP, CBT, MTV, VH1, NBC, Jeff Margolis Productions, Ken Erhlich Productions, Tall Pony Productions, White Cherry Entertainment and numerous other special events and variety entertainment production companies for television, live and home video/audio releases. Consultation and design work includes CAD design system with plotter and graphics system. Business owns flight pack audio recording system for location recording and an in house suite for non-linear editing, mixing and mastering. Engineering, Maintenance, A1, A2, PL (communications) work, RF coordination and sound reinforcement mixing (both front of house and monitors) are significant portion of the business. Also consult with various clubs, sound reinforcement companies and studios on sound system and acoustic design and installation
1988 - 1994 Unitel Mobile Video, Inc. Pgh., Pa. Mobile truck on-location video production services. Technical Supervisor, Maintenance Engineer, Audio Maintenance Engineer, CAD Design, Audio / Video Operator Primary road assignments included television specials, awards shows and entertainment events with a heavy emphasis in analog and digital audio multi-tracking, live broadcast and "to tape" for later editing. Shop assignments included use of Autocad (DOS & Windows based) in design projects for custom truck installations.
1990 - 1996 Mulberry Street Recorders (Studio A), TLK Music Services (Studio B) Pgh, Pa. Audio 24 track analog, 256 track midi & 16 track hard disk recording facility with automation. Owner Operator Studio B, Operator / Engineer Studio A Primary work in Music Composition, Mixing & Producing for popular, commercial and industrial projects. T.L.K. Music Services now in operation as flight pack recording/producing, out of home office.
1986 - 1988 NEP (Northeast Productions) Pgh., Pa. Mobile truck on-location video production services. Technical Supervisor, Maintenance Engineer, Audio / Video Operator Primary assignments included broadcasting of live sports and entertainment events.
1983 - 1986 TCS (Total Communication Systems)Pgh., Pa. Technical Supervisor, Maintenance Engineer, Audio / Video Operator Mobile truck on-location video production services. Primary assignments included broadcasting of live sports events. Shop assignments included systems design and truck installation.
1981 - 1983 Hollowood Music & Sound Co. Pgh., Pa. Temporary and Permanent Sound Reinforcement services, Design & Installation. Maintenance & Installation Engineer, Monitor Mixer & FOH Mixer Venues ranging in size from clubs to 50,000 seat capacity.
1975 - 1981 Part and/or full-time freelance sound engineer and musician. Musical and sound experience encompass live and studio, local and touring. Part time work includes college years of 1975 - 1979.

2003 MTV “Moon Man” Video Music Award – honorary award in video production engineering presented for 20 years of service to MTV.
