Not a good weekend for FAT Racing. Frank Safranek's Mustang never left the shop because of an assembly problem with the engine. It wasn't long before Tim White's Mustang's engine was in the same shape. The weekend started off on the wrong foot for Tim, losing a clutch during qualifying and only getting in 5 laps. The crewed worked fast and got Tim to grid allowing him to take his 8th place qualifying spot. After a heated battle with Ted Johnson, his brakes went away, luckily at turn 8, where Tim drove through the grass and gave up two spots. After backing off, Tim was able to get a finish. Unfortunately, this is where things get worse. Tim noticed that oil pressure had dropped significantly causing the crew to examine the oil filter. With discretion being the better part of valor (cheaper too), Tim's Mustang was put on the trailer.
