June Sprints
June 25-27

Tim did get the engine back together in time for the June Sprints.  This was the first time Tim had been to Road America and spent most of his time learning the track.  Tim will never forget where the braking point is for turn 6 after going off there during the first practice session.  Luckily the safety crew at Road America quickly pulled Tim's Mustang out of the gravel trap allowing him to continue.  When asked what he thought about Road America, Tim said, "What an awesome track, its fast and flows well."

Tim qualified eleventh out of twelve cars but quickly made up one position on the start.  The new engine seemed to run well but didn't seem to have the top end that Tim expected.  On the second lap while coming into turn 5 explained why, the clutch was slipping and completely let go in the braking zone.  Tim tried to nurse the car around but it was too late and pulled off the track just past turn 12 (Canada corner) where he watched the rest of the race from.

Even though Tim did not finish the race it was a great learning experience and plans to make this a regular stop.
